Backgammon Movie – The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner

While some of you may be awaiting the resolve of the unpleasant situation with Play65 closure you can watch a very positive and optimistic movie that features backgammon. I as a bulgarian can not be more proud of the movie “The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks Around The Corner” 2008  because it is a Bulgarian drama film, co-produced with Slovenia, Germany and Hungary.

The story is about a boy suffers from amnesia during a car accident with his parents on their way to Bulgaria. This was supposed to be their first trip to Bulgaria since they emigrated in the 80s during the communist regime in Bulgaria. His parents died in the accident and his only relative left is his grandfather that takes him out of hospital and takes him on a journey back to Bulgaria, to his child hood and back to backgammon.

For people who are interested in communist regimes in Eastern Europe (like I am) this is a must see film. The film can be found easily on the internet (no I am not going to post links to torrent sites as I don’t support pirating this movie). If you are unsure about the quality of the movie you can check out the trailer or the clip of a song that was made for the movie.
